Promote your business on 'The Planet Reigate Podcast'

Whether it's a long-term awareness campaign, a short-term launch promotion, or a one-off ad for a sale or event, talk to us about how we can work together to spread your message.

Podcasting: The 'no waste' advertising platform

With traditional regional print advertising, you're paying for a lot of eyes that you will never reach. For radio advertising, it's similar: all those people who are not in your target age or geographical demographic. That's why it's called  'broad-casting'.

Our podcast might be called 'narrow-casting' as it's got almost pin-point targeting to people who live in RH1, 2 or 3, and have specifically chosen to listen to the show.

The 'no friction' podcast

People can't read your newspaper or magazine advert while they're cooking, exercising or driving. But they can still hear your message on The Planet Reigate Podcast.

They can simply turn the page on a newspaper ad, but they'll hear your name and message in its entirety, alongside other quality audio content that's useful, interesting, entertaining -  and professional, just like your business.

Making it personal

Your logo in a magazine is great. It's eye-catching. We get that. But how relatable is it? How 'human'?

With an audio message, your potential customers can not only hear you but hear what you do.

People buy from people, not logos!

We've lots of options!

'The Planet Reigate Podcast' is not going to have traditional ad-breaks of several 30-second 'radio-type' commercials in a row. What a turn-off!

Instead, 'promotional messages' will be short and limited to just two or three together and only a few in total each episode.

That means your message is more clearly understood and not lost in a jumble of conflicting commercials. And so it works better for you and for us.

But don't just limit yourself to thinking of a ten-second message. We can also help you create a sponsorship of the entire show, a feature within it, of a tailor-made feature around your product. Or maybe a 'barter' arrangement, for example providing a prize for a listener competition (a brunch, free coffee vouchers, a cake-a-month for a year, a boot-load of manure...!) or helping us with promotional material.

Audio advertising is perfect for...

Local estate agents

We have the same audience

'The Planet Reigate Podcast' is here to promote the town and the area around it, to give a sense of pride and tell all that's good about living here - the schools, the shops and open spaces.

And that sounds like a great fit for a local business that wants to promote the area as somewhere great, possibly aspirational, to move to.

People buy from people

You will know as an estate agent how important it is to be personable, friendly and approachable with your clients. They have to 'know, like and trust' you. Does that really come across in print advertising?

With audio they can hear your voice and you can build a personality to your brand. Perhaps one of your staff can voice the message, and be a literal personality, and with regular mentions, a known and respected name across the area.

Awareness campaigns

A lot of advertising is on a 'drip-drip' basis, with regular mentions so the brand is front of mind as and when the listener actually needs your service.

And with competition up and down the high street, isn't it a good idea to have the advantage when someone makes the huge decision to buy or sell. ? "Oh yes, I know that name... they sound nice".

Quality

You run a professional business. You're smart in what you do, how you do it and how you dress. Your staff are confident and polite. Your offices are contemporary, clean and tidy and what you send clients is on good quality paper, with great pictures.

That sounds a bit like us. We have huge experience in audio production and presentation. Our on-air sound is confident, the music is specially composed, the announcements are from a highly-experienced voice talent.

Doesn't it make sense to link with a brand with similar values, rather than a free magazine or newspaper that's pushed through letterboxes?

Tailor made features

You can of course sponsor the whole show, or one of our regular features.

Or we can discuss creating a feature just for you.

That may be, for example:

  • Short weekly tips on looking after your home, from soffits to soft furnishings
  • Suggestions on preparing your house for a valuation or viewing
  • A 'property of the week', perhaps with a short tour around a particularly stand-out property.   (Who doesn't want to hear more about the pub-to-flat conversion, the house on the hill with its own wine cellar, or about the celebrity that once lived in your new 'just listed' property...?)

Local independent schools

We have the same audience

'The Planet Reigate Podcast' is here to promote the town and the area around it, to give a sense of pride and tell all that's good about living here - the schools, the shops and open spaces.

And that sounds like a great fit for a local independent school that wants to promote the area as somewhere great, possibly aspirational, for a family to move to and have their children educated.

Personal testimonies

Does what you do at your school really come across in print advertising? A picture of smiling students in classroom or sports field (a bit like we have here!),  a couple of sentences and a slogan?

With audio, listeners can hear the voice of the head teacher, or better still, the voices of current pupils saying what they love about learning there.

Quality

You and your students are smartly dressed and have a professional attitude in and out of the classroom or lecture room. They are confident and polite. You have an image that has taken years to build up. Parents expect a certain standard.

'School Call' is an obvious example, with a regular mention of what's happening where you are.

Or we can discuss creating a feature just for you.

That may be, for example:

  • Short weekly tips on learning or revision skills
  • Suggestions on helping young people transition to adulthood: choosing friends, staying with a sport, negotiating and speaking skills
  • Suggestions on helping parents as their children get older and navigate life: advice about social media, help on picking subjects
  • Behind the scenes thoughts from teachers and lecturers: how they know a pupil is struggling, thoughts on the 'toilets in lesson time' debate, what they really don't want as an end of term gift!

But if you want regular on-going coverage, then yes, we would ask that we talk about a more formal plan, so we can divide our time up amongst other groups who may also wish to be featured for free.

Tip: Podcasts need sound: someone who is passionate about what they are talking about and sounds that bring the interview alive. Give us that and we'll love to feature you for free!

Tip: these messages can sometimes be important but, let's be honest, a bit dull. And we don't do dull on 'The Planet Reigate Podcast'. So 'sell us' the story with a great angle, and some 'real people', rather than a 'power-dressing spokesperson in an office'.

Tip 2: We don't get involved in tit-for-tat 'party politics' and respect the purdah period. So even though we may talk to a councillor about what they love about the 'Planet Reigate' area, any criticism of 'what the other side did' will just be edited out.

More ideas on what your shop, service or business can sponsor....

We have loads more ideas on how you can link with us to get your message into the ears of people who live and shop locally, by sponsoring one of our existing features (which are explained more fully here).

We love to support the businesses here, especially the independent ones, and we'd love to help you reach local people who need just what you are selling! Contact us to arrange a chat. There is a form at the bottom of this page.
